Five steps for calculating square footage of countertops.

1. Block the countertop drawing into rectangular sections. Remember to include overhangs, decorative end panels, back splashes and windowsills.
2. Number each rectangular section (A, B, C, etc.)
3. Do the math. (Length x Depth = Area.)
4. Add the area amount from all sections to get the total square inches.
5. Divide the area by 144 to get the square footage.
   Note: Round the dimension figures up to the next sq. ft.
